European tradition: “tablau vivant”.

Let’s talk about a curious technique. Do you know the “living paintings”?
Living painting (in French tableau vivant) is a representation made by models or actors of a pictorial work.                                                                                                                          Nowadays, it is used in the world of fine art photography to create results with special textures, which at first sight may look like paintings. It can also imitate and reinterpret works or pictorial movements famous in history.

Here are some of my favorite examples, each one applying their techniques to find these fascinating finishes.

*Alexa Meade

Fine art photography artist.

Alexa Meade is an American artist known for her portraits in which she paints directly on the human body and on objects; something that creates a two-dimensional effect in her photographs.

*Eugenio Recuenco

Phtography like a painting by Eugenio Recuenco

Eugenio Recuenco is photographer  from Madrid whose work has a marked “pictorial” style.

*Viet Ha Tran

Impresionist artist and photographer

Her technique, very interesting, reminds me of William Turner and the impressionist paintings in his use of flashes of light, color and blur.

*Jingna Zhang
